I've had it for about 3 weeks now and it works excellent even on really hot and humid days.it was very simple and easy to install. It appears to bring down the temperature of my room by about 10C, but more importantly, it gets rid of all the humidity. So even if it's 35C outside, it honestly feels a lot colder then 25C inside, due to the chilly dry air. I'll have to get an actual thermometer to test, but as far as removing humidity in a room, and keeping it cold, it really fits the bill. Takes no more then an hour to completely cool down and dehumidify a ~140 square foot room.
Pros:
Keeps room very cold, and gets rid of all humidity
Super easy to install
Small, fairly quiet for an AC, CHEAP. $170 for this is a STEAL.
Cons:
Perhaps not quite enough foam insulator, I'd suggest you purchase some extra insulator yourself.
The manual controls to adjust the airflow only work left/right, so it takes a little longer to cool off the room entirely.
This particular 5,000 BTU unit is only good for very small rooms. I imagine it would not cool a large or even medium sized room effectively. But I'm reviewing this unit which is advertised for 150sq foot rooms, so youre getting what ya pay for.
