1908年、駆け出しの雑誌記者時代に、アンドリュー・カーネギーと出会う。カーネギーの要請で万人が活用できる成功の秘訣の体系化に着手。カーネギーの尽力もあり、著名な500名以上の各界成功者が共同作業に携わる。20年後の1928年、初期プログラム完成。そして実践の場での有効性を調査し、再び検討を重ねて52年後の1960年に、遂にPMAプログラムを完成(80年後の1988年に新版完成)。この間、ウッドロー・ウィルソン大統領の広報担当補佐官、フランクリン・ルーズベルト大統領の顧問官を務める(「BOOK著者紹介情報」より：本データは『成功哲学《誌上講座》1919-1923』(ISBN-10:4877712666)が刊行された当時に掲載されていたものです)

I love this book too. Because I using it for myself. I want to succeed. There are many stories in this that I doing it already for a long time in my life. I was surprised my first time reading this. About the subconscious mind, The Faith, Desire, Beliefs, and more! You will not notice the wonderful lessons from the book if you will not use them yourself.

This book is definitely worth reading. I learned a lot from it. However, I also found some parts to be subjective, vague... Even though some of these parts are left vague by design, I found that design frustrating and useless. Apart from that, I gained much more financial intelligence from the book.

It was 45 years ago that I first read the maxim written by Napoleon Hill. It was just yesterday that I read this book, It is amazing, indeed.
This book gives us formula that leads us to success, or at least close to it. It is a blend of science and belief -a kind of religion.
However, the key to success is made possible by both belief and repeated actions. No actions, No gains. Do or Don't. That is the question.

しかし、日本語版と原著とでは、多少の違いがあると知り、この原著を購入。
私は英語は読めないが、人生のバイブルとして原著を持っておきたかった。そのためだけに買ったといっても過言ではない。

日本語訳本には、原本にない文がシラッと付け加えられています。
訳者が気を利かせてなのかもしれませんが、
そのおかげで解釈が微妙にずれているような気がしました。
この本の内容自体、とても高尚で意味深いと思うのですが
日本語版だと訳者の理解力の限界なのか、小さな世界観でとどまっているように感じます。
言い回しというか言葉の選び方が、
この原本から私が汲み取ったナポレオン・ヒルご本人が言い表したいこととは
ちょっと違うんじゃないかと感じました。

ですから、「できれば原本で読みたい本ですね。」ということが言いたかったわけです。
