外国の人視線での日本の表現法が理解できる本です。日本の良いところを発見もできました。この本に出てくる建物や景色を実際に見に行ってみたいです。

残念ながら、伊豆ー竹林の小径の説明に誤りがあります。ここに書かれているのは「独鈷の湯」の事で、「竹林の小径」の事ではありません。編集の方に見直しをして欲しいと考えます。

This is a terrific guide, well written and an education about Japan all by itself. I spent the past two weeks in Japan simply following the recommended itinerary (Tokyo, Kyoto and Hiroshima) as well as staying in the recommended hotels/hostels and eating at the recommended restaurants. It was fantastic. I highly recommend this guide. For example, they recommended staying at the Piece Hostel in Kyoto -- I would never have thought of staying in a hostel, but it was superb (hostels in Japan are not just for youth). One thing Michelin could improve -- on their area maps they show their recommended restaurants, but they don't show the prices associated. So I always had to flip back and forth to find an inexpensive recommended restaurant near wherever I happened to be. It takes too long -- they need some way to show on the map the less expensive recommended restaurants (which is all I, and probably most tourists, was interested in) - maybe they could just italicize the budget restaurants.

As I discovered upon receiving this, and as is obvious if one looks at the page before last - this is the November 2017 edition. The guide is great (but I already have an older version).

I like the Michelin Green Guides and have used them all over the world - this one does not seem to be as detailed as the ones for the European locations. But, in conjunction with the DK Eyewitness Travel Guide for Japan, we were well covered.
